FREE PUBLIC EVENT
On March 19th (the Spring Equinox) Food Producers Forum and Memorial University Botanical Garden will host Seedy Saturday 2022, a seed and plant swap at the Botanical Garden on Mt. Scio Road in St. John’s, NL. We used to have these events each spring at City Hall, but have been missing out on the annual exchange of plants and seeds for the past few years.
There is no registration for this free public event. You just show up with your seeds and plants to exchange! But even if you don’t have any plant materials to swap, please come to Seedy Saturday. There will be lots to learn!
We will have a table for seed and plant exchanges, a Kids’ Place where families can start seeds to take home with them, tables for local organizations working on food production and food security and a series of five workshops. This will be a non-commercial event (no sale of any products or services.) Prizes will be given away to those who register.
